Brothers & Sir Knights-
Faith in Action Programs Update:
Free Throw Championship– Brothers, as part of the Knights of Columbus Faith in Action Program our Council will be taking part in the 2020 Knights of Columbus Free Throw Championship. This program is a great way to introduce the Ewing Council Knights of Columbus to the community and recruit faithful family men of service.
Our local competition is being coordinated by Deputy Grand Knight Tom DeFalco and will be held on Saturday January 18th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Ewing Senior and Community Center (ESCC) gymnasium. As always to help make this program a success the participation of Brother Knights is essential. Based on your capabilities there is a spot for YOU at the competition. You can play a part by registering participants, keeping score, rebounding free throws etc.
If you are available to support your Council during this program, please contact DGK Tom DeFalco @ 609-882-6480 (Tom DeFalco)
or WGK Frank Ferdetta @ 609-883-1559 (Frank Ferdetta).
Novena for Life
The protection of life is a sustained prayer intention of the Church, and of the Knights of Columbus. Knights remain firmly committed to defending the right to life of every human being – from the moment of conception to natural death. To commemorate and bolster this important cause, Ewing Council is promoting a novena, nine days of sustained prayer
(Tuesday, January 21st through Wednesday, January 29th) to build up a culture of life in our parishes, homes and wider community. The Council will be distributing Mass Cards the weekend before (January 18th and 19th) at both Parishes. Our Worthy Lecturer Ron Prykanowski is overseeing our participation in this required Faith in Action program.
Consecration of the Holy Family
Both of our Parishes conducted a Consecration to the Holy Family during the weekend of December 28th and 29th, which coincided with the Feast of the Holy Family this year on December 29th. The Consecration to the Holy Family Prayer was recited at each Mass during the weekend. The Prayer was published in each Parish Bulletin and approximately 700 prayer cards were distributed by fifteen Brother Knights at each Mass over the course of the weekend.
2020 March for Life
Each year since 1974, the March for Life has been a movement that joins us together as a People of Life in Washington D.C. to oppose the 1973 Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision which made abortion legal for any reason, through all nine months of pregnancy. The 2020 March for Life will take place on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the National Mall, Washington, D.C.
